Terms of Service
Welcome to Taylor Forensic Evidence Mapping. By engaging the services of the firm, you (the "Client") agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms ensure a clear understanding of the professional relationship and the scope of work provided.
1. Professional Responsibility & Limitation of Liability
Taylor Forensic Evidence Mapping provides litigation support through the administrative organization and categorization of data. All mapping, thematic categorization (e.g., 'access denial - direct'), and timelines are provided for the convenience of the retaining professional. The retaining Psychologist or Legal Counsel maintains ultimate responsibility for the review, interpretation, and professional application of all mapped materials. Taylor Forensic Evidence Mapping does not provide clinical diagnoses or legal opinions and cannot be held liable for the judicial or clinical weight given to categorized evidence by a court or oversight body.
2. Scope of Services
Services are limited to the organization, categorization, and digital mapping of provided evidence. The firm does not perform psychological assessments, act as an expert witness (unless separately contracted), or provide legal advice. All work is performed as a support service to the primary professional (Psychologist or Lawyer) or to individuals who hire the service.
3. Fees and Payment
Fixed-Fee Litigation Packages: Flat-rate services are billed according to disclosure page volume as detailed on the official Pricing page:
Tier 1 (The Triage Scan — Up to 300 pages):* $600.00 CAD Fixed Flat Rate.
Tier 2 (The Mid-Conflict Map — 300 to 1,000 pages):* $1,200.00 CAD Fixed Flat Rate.
Tier 3 (The Comprehensive Portfolio — 1,000+ pages):* Base Rate starts at $2,500.00 CAD. Custom administrative add-on quotes will be issued in writing for files exceeding 1,500 pages.
Hourly Consulting Rate: Specialized law firm retainers, ongoing litigation tracking, and custom file updates are billed at a standard rate of $85.00 CAD per hour.
Retainers & Deposit Structure: For all flat-rate packages and hourly projects exceeding an estimated 10 hours of work, a non-refundable retainer deposit of 50% of the estimated total is required before file processing commences.
Deliverable Release & Invoicing: Progress invoices are issued at calendar month-end for long-term hourly retainer files. For all standard fixed-fee packages, final deliverables and mapping portfolios are securely released immediately upon receipt of the final remaining balance payment.
Payment Terms: Invoices are payable upon receipt. Late balances exceeding 15 days from the invoice date may be subject to interest at a compounding rate of 2% per month. Payments are accepted securely via Interac E-Transfer or bank wire to: billing@taylorforensic.ca.
*All listed package fees and hourly rates are currently exempt from GST under the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Small Supplier provisions.
4. Confidentiality & Data Security
Taylor Forensic is committed to the highest standards of data privacy in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
All digital files must be transferred via a secure Proton Mail or Proton Drive system.
Taylor Forensic will not disclose any information related to a case to third parties unless required by law or subpoena.
A formal Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) can be provided upon request.
5. Client Obligations
The Client is solely responsible for ensuring that all digital evidence and disclosures provided to Taylor Forensic Evidence Mapping have been obtained legally and that they possess the full legal authority to share such data for the purpose of litigation support.
6. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment of the project invoice, the Client is granted a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the final mapping report and timeline documents for the specific legal or clinical matter it was created for. Taylor Forensic Evidence Mapping retains absolute ownership and intellectual property rights of the underlying structural templates, Excel formulas, metrics ledgers, and proprietary organizational methods used to synthesize the work.
7. Termination of Service
Either party may terminate the service agreement at any time with written notice. In the event of termination, the Client will be immediately invoiced for all administrative hours logged, or the percentage of package completion reached up to the exact point of cancellation. All provided digital disclosure evidence will be permanently digitally shredded and destroyed.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed strictly by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada. Any legal disputes or claims shall be resolved exclusively within the jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
